Etihad Airways has marked a significant milestone with the launch of direct flights to two major Central European cities, Prague and Warsaw, as part of its ongoing network expansion in 2025. The UAE’s national carrier operated its inaugural flight to Prague on 2nd June, followed by its first landing in Warsaw on 3rd June, reinforcing its commitment to broadening global connectivity from its Abu Dhabi hub.

The addition of Prague and Warsaw underscores Etihad’s strategic focus on enhancing its European presence. With these routes, Etihad aims to facilitate stronger business, tourism, and cultural ties between the Middle East and Central Europe. Both destinations are among 16 new cities the airline plans to add this year as it continues to grow its international footprint.

Etihad Airways Chief Executive Officer Antonoaldo Neves highlighted the importance of the new routes, stating that they offer significant opportunities for travellers and businesses alike. “Our new Prague and Warsaw services open doors to countless possibilities,” Neves said. “These new routes create a bridge between two remarkable regions, connecting travellers from the Middle East to the heart of Central Europe, while offering seamless connections via Abu Dhabi to destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and Australia.”

The new services are operated using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, known for its fuel efficiency and passenger comfort. The aircraft configuration includes 28 Business Studios, offering premium amenities, and 262 Economy Smart seats, providing travellers with a comfortable and enjoyable flight experience.

The launch of flights to Prague and Warsaw is expected to attract a diverse mix of passengers, including tourists, business travellers, and members of the large expatriate communities residing in both regions. These additions also align with Etihad’s broader strategy to position Abu Dhabi as a key global transit point, enabling convenient one-stop connections to an extensive range of destinations worldwide.

In conjunction with the expansion, Etihad has introduced a promotional campaign called The Extraordinary Challenge. The competition invites participants to race to visit 15 of the airline’s new destinations, including Prague and Warsaw, with the grand prize offering five million Etihad Guest miles. The campaign aims to engage frequent flyers and promote awareness of the airline’s growing network.

As Etihad continues its network expansion throughout 2025, the airline remains focused on delivering superior service and connectivity, supporting the UAE’s broader aviation and tourism objectives while strengthening its competitive position in the global airline industry. – By MENA Newswire News Desk.
